Omar is one of the eight founding members of The Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP), organization dedicated to creating and archiving material produced by and for the citizens of Pakistan. The pilot project of CAP was the coordination of the Shanaakht Festival that took place at the Karachi Arts Council Campus from August 11th through August 14th, 2007. Through a series of curated readings, exhibitions, performances and interactive oral history projects, Shanaakht explored identity through the lens of the experience of partition coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Pakistan's creation/independence.
