Omar Rahim NYC debuted as a brand in 2006 at ABC Carpet and Home. Whereas Soof Designs highlighted Pakistan’s indigenous designs, Omar Rahim NYC textiles and furniture focus on an urban design aesthetic inspired by Pakistan’s rich design heritage. The stunning jacquard silk and cotton bedding collection, for example, utilizes silk produced on traditional looms using centuries-old techniques, but the indigenous craft has been shaped and honed to create the chic look of Omar Rahim NYC product. The one-of-a-kind furniture line is inspired by Pakistan’s mid-century vintage and Indo-colonial designs and uses Soof Designs rillis as upholstery, but the look is edgy, risky, and new.
