Design Work
Omar launched his first home textiles company, Soof Designs, in 2001. Soof product was inspired by the textile, ceramic and other folk/artisanal traditions of Pakistan. Omar introduced the Sindhi rilli/ralli to the design communities of New York and London by working with prestigious retailers including ABC Carpet and Home in New York and fashion designers including Paul Smith in London and Tracy Feith in New York. Many of Hollywood’s A-list including Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Goldie Hawn, Steven Spielberg, Julianne Moore and Tom Hanks are proud owners of Soof Designs’ rillis. Soof Designs has since expanded into a wide array of home textile products.
