'Titli' Performance

Reckitt Benckiser, maker of the world’s best-selling depilatory products, commissioned Omar Rahim to choreograph a dance piece for a live event held on May 28th 2009 in Karachi, Pakistan. The work, entitled Titli (meaning butterfly in Urdu) featured 13 hand-picked dancers from Karachi and dramatized the life-cycle of a butterfly.  Rahim worked with Shallum Xavier, composer and guitarist from Pakistan’s Fuzon band, to create the score.  The performance was followed by a fashion show featuring leading Pakistani designers including Maheen Khan, HSY and Nomi Ansari.  The evening was shot for television and has been broadcast on national TV in Pakistan.
